The most common types of breast cancer are:
- ductal carcinoma in situ ( DCIS) (85 - 90% of all cases)
- lobular carcinoma (8% of all cases)
- Invasive (Infiltrating) ductal carcinoma
Invasive, or infiltrating, breast cancer has the potential to spread out of the original tumor site and invade other parts of your breast and body. There are several types and subtypes of invasive breast cancer.
Less common are:
- Inflammatory breast cancer (occurs in the skin)
- Paget's disease of the nipple
